Kerusi SUPP Bukan Untuk Parti Lain

KUCHING: Presiden Parti Rakyat Bersatu Sarawak (SUPP) Datuk Dr Sim Kui Hian bertegas kerusi Dewan Undangan Negeri (DUN) yang diperuntukkan kepada parti itu tidak boleh diberikan kepada parti-parti lain.

Beliau berkata, di bawah pemahaman dan semangat Barisan Nasional (BN) satu-satu parti komponen tidak boleh memiliki lebih separuh daripada keseluruhan kerusi (DUN).

“Saya pernah mengatakan perkara itu sebelum ini dan ia tetap kekal. Di bawah pemahaman BN kerusi diperuntukkan kepada SUPP iaitu 19 kerusi sedia ada ditambah satu kerusi baharu harus kekal.

“Pemahaman ini dicapai antara SUPP dengan Pengerusi BN Negeri dan Pengerusi BN Malaysia sebelum Pilihan Raya Negeri Ke-11 (PRN11) iaitu ‘semua kerusi dipertandingkan adalah milik parti komponen BN,” tegasnya.

Beliau berkata demikian selepas Majlis Angkat Sumpah Ahli Dewan Undangan Negeri (ADUN) di Kompleks DUN di sini semalam, sebagai mengulas kenyataan Presiden Parti Rakyat Bersatu (UPP) mengatakan parti itu mendapat restu daripada Ketua Menteri Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Adenan Satem untuk kekal bersama UPP.

Menteri Kerajaan Tempatan itu berkata, jika pemahaman tersebut dilanggar maka semangat berkongsi BN tidak bermakna lagi.

“Saya mahu menambah, bagi kerusi baharu, daripada 11 kerusi itu, Ketua Menteri (Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Adenan Satem) secara terbuka banyak kali mengatakan setiap komponen dijanji dua kerusi.

“Setakat ini, SUPP hanya diberi satu iaitu Batu Kitang dan kita menuntut satu lagi,” katanya sambil menambah jika salah satu komponen BN memiliki lebih separuh kerusi BN lebih sesuai digelar ‘Barisan Sarawak’.

Beliau menjelaskan, dalam hal ini SUPP tidak boleh dikatakan menuntut kerusi dimenangi UPP kerana kerusi-kerusi berkenaan sememangnya pada asal milik parti terbabit.

Kerusi dimaksudkan ialah Opar, Mambong (Bengoh), Engkilili, Dudong dan Bawang Assan.

Pada PRN11 lalu, calon langsung BN diletakkan di tujuh daripada 20 kerusi diperuntukkan kepada SUPP selepas penyelesaian pemilihan calon antara kedua-dua parti gagal dicapai.

“Jika parti-parti lain mahu menerima mereka, kerusi-kerusi ini kekal milik SUPP seperti dikatakan sebelum ini dan ia jelas dinyatakan, melainkan ada pihak yang mungkir janji.

“Saya juga banyak kali mengatakan pintu parti (SUPP) sentiasa terbuka menerima semula mereka termasuk seorang calon langsung BN bertanding di kerusi baharu tetapi parti kita ada perlembagaan harus dipatuhi,” katanya. - UB

BN MPS FOR ALL RACES AND RELIGIONS

-EVEN IF THE BN LEADER IS MALAY OR CHINESE OR IBAN OR OTHER ETHNIC, HE IS THE LEADER FOR ALL THE PEOPLE IN HIS AREA 

THE Members of Parliament (MPs) or State Assemblymen (DUNs) are the leaders representing  all the communities in their respective constituencies regardless of their differences of races, religions and backgrounds.

“Even if they (the leaders) are Malay, Chinese, Iban or other ethnics, he is still the representatives for all the people in his or hers constituencies as it had been the Barisan Nasional (BN) Government’s common practices.”

Deputy Speaker of Parliament Datuk Haji Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar said this in his speech at the aid presentation ceremony to the needy quarters from all the Kuching area held at the Kuching Waterfront Amphitheater here yesterday morning.

He then presented financial aid to 66 recipients, 12 for education aid (totalling RM6,300), five for disaster aid (RM7,000), four for chronic-illness (RM3,500), an MRP recipient (RM1,000) and donations to 44 needy people (RM4,400). 

For record, 19 of needy people were from the Old Folks Home (Sri Kenangan) at Mile 12 here and the rest are from the Kuching town areas.

Later in a press conference,  Junaidi, who is also the Santubong MP said that usually, his programmes when involving less of people will normally be conducted in his office however, in-conjunction with Maulidur Rasul, Chap Go Meh and Thaipusam, he decides to do “something extra-special”.

It was indeed a very special day for the aids recipients as apart from reciving financial aids, they were given an opportunity to have breakfast with Wan Junaidi and other respective invited guests on board of the Sarawak-River Cruise berthed beside the Waterfront.

Also present at the aid presenting ceremony were Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) Secretary General Professor Dr Sim Kui Hian, Junaidi’s Senior Private Secretary in parliament Wan Hamzah Wan Paie, Kuching District Officer Mahri Sarpawi, Pemanca Rashidi Junai, representing the Welfare Department was Abu Bakar Haji Bujang and other dignitaries.

SUPP RESPONSES TO JUNAIDI'S STATEMENTS

I DON'T MIND GOING FURTHER UP TO MEET EITHER CM OR PM ON THIS MATTER BECAUSE AS FOR I AM CONCERN, I AM ON THE RIGHT-TRACK, SAYS JUNAIDI

THE Secretary General of Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) Prof Dr Sim Kui Hian had already made a response to Deputy Speaker of Parliament Datuk Dr Haji Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar’s claims that some SUPP members are “playing on the wrong-side of the playground” which is on Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu’s (PBB) turfs.

“Yes, SUPP’s Sec-Gen Prof Dr Sim had replied my SMS just recently regarding on some SUPP members are “meddling” on PBB’s turfs and said that he “will immediately look into the matter”,” disclosed Junaidi exclusively to UnReportedNews™® when met at his Santubong Parliament Service Centre earlier this morning.

“I don’t mind to go further up to meet the Chief Minister Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud or even the Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak regarding to this matter as for I am concern, I am on the right-side of this matter,” he added.

“There, I had said it ..I have my own principle .. I will compromise to those who doesn’t respect me and my party (PBB) and I hope Prof Sim will take action so that he same thing won’t happen again in the future not only in my constituency but other State BN component parties as well.”

On Monday earlier (as reported in the UnReportedNews™®, please click here) Junaidi made a strong statement reminding other State component Barisan Nasional (BN) parties not to discriminate their own counterparts by blowing-up irrelevant issues out of proportion in their counterpart’s constituency just for the sake to boost-up their own popularity.

Urging those “busy-bodies” to just take care of your own party and its constituencies, he also warned them don’t try to disturb any of PBB turfs because PBB are capable of taking take of the people in their own areas.

Junaidi, who is also the Member of Parliament for Santubong stated that as a PBB member, he will not tolerate any act which he describes as “nonsense” and in a way reflects an in-direct disrespect to PBB.

He was referring to an article in a newspaper recently where some quarters of the State BN components “aiding” a one homeless “Mr. Chai” in Demak Laut who was said to had not been given assistance from the representatives in that area.

It later turned out that, “Mr. Chai” has actually had been shortlisted by Junaidi in his housing scheme for the poor late last year after his case was heard however, as the scheme’s quota for last year’s is limited, his case is then forwarded in this year’s quota.

“Demak Laut is in my Santubong Constituency and their latest acts are as if implying that Demak Laut State Assemblyman and myself have not discharged our duties,” said Junaidi claiming that this was the second time this same quarters had poked their noses into other’s businesses and not knowing what are their intention were, he reminded them don’t try to mess with him.

He said that it is very unethical for them to “sneak” into others’ areas and to make the matter even worse, blowing out an issue that had under currently being handled by PBB without the courtesy refer the matter to their own counterparts in that area.
