DAKWAAN "MEMBABI-BUTA" DAP SARAWAK

-GARA-GARA "KESILAPAN" SEWAKTU  MEMBENTANGKAN USUL, AHLI DEWAN UNDANGAN NEGERI SARAWAK DUDONG DIGESA MENCARI BUKTI MENYOKONG DAKWAANNYA MENGENAI KOS PEMBINAAN SEBUAH JAMBATAN! DIMANA ADUN BERKENAAN MENDAPAT JUMLAH KOS PEMBINAAN YANG MELEBIHI RM106 JUTA DARIPADA KOS YANG ASAL? KEKEKE!!!-

Kos pembinaan Jambatan Lanang yang didakwa memakan kos sehingga RM286 juta adalah tidak benar sekali.

Menteri Pembangunan Infrastruktur dan Perhubungan Sarawak, Dato Sri Michael Manyin Jawong berkata demikian ketika menafikan usul yang dibentangkan oleh Ahli Dewan Undangan Negeri (ADUN) Dudong, Yap Hoi Liong berhubung pembinaan jambatan tersebut di Sibu semalam.

Katanya, jumlah kos yang telah dipersetujui oleh pihak kontraktor, Woodville Development Sdn Bhd dengan Jabatan Kerja Raya (JKR) adalah RM180 juta.

"Saya tidak tahu di mana beliau (Yap) mendapat angka tersebut," ujarnya ketika ditemui pemberita selepas Mesyuarat Kedua Bagi Penggal Ketiga DUN Sarawak Ke-17 di sini, berakhir.

Menurutnya, pembayaran dibahagikan kepada tiga bahagian merangkumi pembayaran dalam bentuk tunai sebanyak RM10 juta, pembayaran dalam bentuk barangan RM90 juta dan pembayaran kepada tol sebanyak RM80 juta.

"Justeru, jumlah yang dinyatakan oleh ADUN Dudong adalah tidak tepat kerana saya telah memberitahu kos tersebut semasa persidangan DUN pada tahun 2011 yang lalu.

"Kini terpulang kepada beliau untuk mencari bukti yang boleh menyokong fakta beliau," jelasnya.

Sementara itu, Menteri Kewangan Kedua, Dato' Sri Wong Soon Koh turut menyelar usul ADUN berkenaan yang mengungkit cadangan pemberian tol percuma di Jambatan Lanang oleh kerajaan sebelum ini.

Tegasnya, cadangan terbabit akan dilaksanakan sekiranya rakyat Sibu memberikan sokongan padu kepada Barisan Nasional (BN) semasa Pilihan Raya Umum yang lalu.

"Kita boleh mengemukakan cadangan kepada kerajaan persekutuan berhubung pemberian tol percuma kepada rakyat Sibu dengan syarat, mereka memberikan sokongan kepada BN.

"Namun, seperti yang kita tahu, mereka memihak kepada pembangkang. Oleh itu, kita tidak ada kuasa untuk berbuat demikian lagi," ujarnya.

RM400M TO BUILT OVERTAKING LANES ALONG KUCHING-MIRI TRUNK ROAD

IF THE PROPOSAL IS APPROVED, IT WOULD CERTAINLY REDUCES THE DEATH ACCIDENT TALLY ALONG THE ROAD

SARAWAK Public Works Department (JKR) have been instructed by the Federal Government to evaluate on the State’s proposal to construct 95 overtaking lanes in Sarawak on the state trunk road between Kuching and Miri.

“The proposal of the overtaking-lane project, initially estimated at RM400 million is however, is the secondary option to our first proposal which is to upgrade the present over 900 km two-way trunk road into a dual-carriageway which overall cost a massive RM16 billion.”

Sarawak Infrastructure Development and Communication Minister Datuk Seri Michael Manyin said this adding that he believes that their proposal will be approved as the cost of the overtaking-lane proposal submitted last year was just a fraction of their first RM16 billion proposal.

"I think RM400 million is nothing (but a small amount) for the Federal Government compared to what we originally asked for (RM16 billion) so there’s a possibility that the proposal would be approved.”

Manyin said this to reporters at a press conference after officiating at the State-level Road Safety Education (RSE) Program for National Service (NS) Trainees which was held at the Merdeka Palace Hotel near the city here yesterday.

"If we can get approval for the allocation for the overtaking-lane project even by stages or phases would do, a lot of lives can be saved along the trunk road."

"The average overall accident death tally in Malaysia is 18-person per day an average of 1.2-person per day for Sarawak alone," added Manyin, who is also Tebedu State Assemblyman.

THE BIDAYUHS ARE GRATEFUL PEOPLE-MANYIN

WITH THE BIDAYUH'S PRESENT PRIVILEGES GIVEN,  IT'S UNFAIR FOR US TO KEEP ON ASKING FROM THE GOVERNMENT

THE Bidayuh community are grateful people and they we won’t asked for more to what the government had given to them all this while, said Minister of Infrastructure Development and Communication Dato Sri Michael Manyin Jawong.

“At this moment, I think what else do we ask for? Presently, we have two deputy ministers at the federal level, one full minister, two assistant ministers and one deputy speaker at the state-level, what else can we ask for? I think for the time being, it is enough privilege for a small community like us.”

Manyin who is also the Tebedu Assemblyman said this when asked whether the Bidayuh community would urge the government to grant them with a senator-ship  post.

“It would be quite unfair for a small community like us to keep asking more from the government and frankly, I think we have enough already,” added Manyin after handing over the land title grants for 468 recipients comprising of participants of SALCRA in Serian area in a ceremony held at the Kampung Bunan Gega at Jalan Mongkos near Serian here on last Monday.

On the recent appointment of Datuk Richard Riot Jaem as the Deputy President of Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP), Manyin said that Riot's appointment is an honor for the Bidayuh community.

“I wish to convey my heartiest congratulation for him to his recent appointment as SUPP’s Deputy President and yes, his appointment brings a great honour for us, the Bidayuh community,” said Manyin when asked by reporters to comment on Riot’s appointment.

“It is good news for us as this is the first time a Bidayuh is appointed as the deputy president in a Chinese-based party,” he added.

Riot, who is currently the Deputy Foreign Minister and also the Member of Parliament for Serian was appointed as SUPP’s deputy president at the party’s Triennial Delegates Conference (TDC) last weekend.
