"OLD" SUPP NEEDS REVAMPING TO BE RELEVANT (PART I)

SUPP MUST REGAIN ITS IMAGE AS POWERHOUSE OF SARAWAK'S BN COMPONENT PARTY 
NAJIB DELIVERING HIS SPEECH AT THE 22ND SUPP DELEGATE CONVENTION
SARAWAK United People's Party (SUPP) is urged to regain its image as one of the powerhouse of the Sarawak's Barisan Nasional (BN) component party and to establish back the people's trust making SUPP, a choice for Sarawakians.

"SUPP needs rethink of a new and a winning strategy, including revamping the changes that needs to be change than only SUPP would be stronger and you must do all you can to persuade or convince back the people, especially the Chinese voters to give their support to you."


Prime Minister and also the BN Chairman Datuk Seri Haji Najib Tun Razak made this challenge in his speech before officially launching the 22nd SUPP's Delegates Convention was applaused by more than 400 SUPP's delegates attending the convention on last Saturday.

SUPP is an old party, it must be re-energized so that it have spirits to go on, pointed Najib adding that SUPP had existed so many years ago and during the period, the party had rendered its services to the people and that is why he (Najib) believes that SUPP have still much more to offer in many years to come.

He urged the delegates that their party must convince back the voters particularly after the worse defeat in the last State election and if they work hard enough, they can win back the trust of the urban voters.

As for the internal conflict on the party's Presidential post, Najib said that his presence at the convention has no other intention but only wants to see SUPP to become stronger once more and respected by all Sarawakians beside BN had been practising not to interfere in any internal affairs of its component parties.

"Once the dust is settle, please close back the ranks and work together as a team as the enemy is not within your fellow SUPP but the enemy is actually out there, the enemy is the opposition, especially we are on the verge of th 13th General Election (GE)," he reminded those involved in the "conflict".

"With the 13th GE just around the corner...I still don't know when is the date for the GE," Najib jokingly paused before adding that when the time comes, he wants SUPP to be fully ready at its best for the GE.
