DAP MAKIN LAMA MAKIN "BESAR KEPALA" & MULA MENINDAS PAS?

"KESUCIAN KEKORUPAN" ANWAR IBRAHIM TERSERLAH?

"TENSIONED PBB MEETING" IS A PROSPEROUS STORY

-WRITING A PROSPEROUS STORY LIKE THAT REGARDING PBB CAN TRIGGER DISUNITY AT PBB'S GRASSROOT LEVEL & WE WILL DECIDE EITHER TO LOOK MORE INTO THE MATTER OR OTHERWISE-

ASSISTANT Minister of Entrepreneur Development Datuk Mohd Naroden Majais lambasted an article in a blog alleging that the Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) meeting held on last Tuesday was held in a “tensioned and unpleasant atmosphere”.

“Who wrote that article? Was he (the blogger) in the meeting? No, as far as I know there were no tense moment during the entire meeting and in fact it (the meeting) went on smoothly,” he said.

Naroden, who attended the meeting which chaired by PBB Vice President Datuk Amar Haji Awang Tengah Ali Hassan added that the meeting was to discuss on the PRU 13’s PBB operation rooms, committee members for the PBB central and branches.

He was exclusively interviewed by  UnReportedNews™® before the officiating the Land and Survey Department’s Innovation and Integrity Day by Awang Tengah, who is also the Minister of Resource Planning and Environment II at a hotel near the city here yesterday afternoon.

“I don’t know what the blogger’s game is however, writing such a prosperous story regarding PBB like that can trigger disunity at the PBB grass root and I would informed the matter to Datuk Amar Awang Tengah whether we should look more into the matter or otherwise.”

Also present at the event were Deputy State Secretary Datu Haji Misnu Haji Taha, Lands And Mines (Federal) General Director Datu Sudarsono Osman, LSD Director Sajeli Kipli and other distinguished guests.

TENSIONED PBB MEETING? LIAR!

-THE MEETING WAS VERY FRUITFUL WITH MANY SUGGESTIONS, NOT AS PORTRAYED BY THE BLOGGER AS IF THOSE ATTENDING ARE READY TO KILL EACH OTHER, IT IS NOT EVEN CLOSE TO THE TRUTH-

It seemed that the “reliable source supplying” infos to a local blogger on the details in the PBB meeting yesterday is a quite an “imaginative fellow” when he/she described the meeting went on in an “unpleasant atmosphere” as posted in his blog a couple of hours ago.

Well, my source however, portrayed the meeting went on smoothly and I quote my source, “The meeting was purely discussing about the PRU 13’s PBB operation rooms, committee members for the PBB central and branches.”

“It was very fruitful with many good suggestions..those things that the blogger portrayed in his blog that the meeting went on in a tension manner, implying as if that those attending the meeting are ready to kill each other is not even close to the truth.”

“What is the blogger’s intention? As if he had not enough problems in THEIR hands,” asked my source sarcastically adding that the alleged infightings in PBB as claimed by certain quarters might be triggered by themselves starting up and playing the rumours around.

And the worse thing is, it is really quite unfair to simply labelling MP Hajah Nancy Syukri (Batang Sadong) and MP Datuk Hajah Rohani Karim (Batang Lupar) that they are hoping to clear their paths of all obstacles purely for selfish needs and not party needs.

MMMMM..I wonder who’s telling the truth?

SARAWAK MUFTI OFFICE TO BE UPGRADED TO DEPARTMENT STATUS

-DEFINING FATWAS ALSO DETERMINES ON THE PERCEPTIONS, BELIEVES AND UNDERSTANDINGS OF THE FUTURE GENERATION ON RELATED ISSUES-
THE Sarawak Mufti Office will be ungraded into its own Department, complete with all the needed facilities to enable it to perform its duty swiftly and independably, especially on the reviewing and finalising any "fatwas" in Islam.

Making this announcement, Chief Minister Pehin Seri Haji Abdul Taib Mahmud said that this adding that in principle, he purely agrees that the present Sarawak Mufti Office status should be upgraged into a Department of its own in order to spread a uniformed understanding of the Islamic fatwas accurately and systematically.

He said this in his speech at the one-day State Level Fatwa Seminar 1433H/2012M which jointly organised by the Sarawak Mufti Office and Jabatan Kemajuan Islam Malaysia (JAKIM) at the Sarawak Islam Centre (SIC) near the heart of the city here earlier this morning.

Taib was responding to the call earlier made by the Assistant Minister (Islamic Affairs) in the Chief Minister's Office Datuk Haji Daud Haji Abdul Rahman in his welcoming speech at the same event on the possiblity of the Sarawak Mufti Office to be ungraded to Sarawak Mufti Department status.

"The (Sarawak) Mufti Offfice plays an important role in determining the true or closest true definition, principle and understanding of the fatwas on any certain Islamic issues which may arrise or questioned by the people in this State from time to time by standardizing and uniforming it."

"Even since the Prophet Muhammad SAW's time, fatwa had and always been "the order of Muslim Society" where all the Islamic scholars and those with Islamic knowledges would discuss to determine and define the best answers or understanding accordingly to the Islam teaching on any arrising disputes or difference of oppinions on any Islamic-related issues."

Reminding the Mufti Office that their responsibilities in determining the fatwas are huge burdens as it will also determine the believes of the future generation, Taib said that the beauty in Islam is that it allows changes and evolves, updating all the old fatwas to meet the needs and changing of time so long as it is not against its teaching.

"Therefore,  Mufti Office must also be prepare to accept the changes when defining the fatwas of the "do's and dont's" accordingly to the Islam teaching and apart from learning and depending on the Al-Quran as a guide to live according to the Islamic way, the Mufti Office is also urged to emphasize on education and knowledges," stressed Taib.

"As fatwas is a guide in our daily life, the Mufti Office must also take priority to prepare themselves with new knowledges, including the fields of economics, science, industries, technologies, finances and other decilpline to determine and define the right and accurate fatwas, should they arrised in the related matters in the near future."

He also pointed out that whatever outcome of any of the fatwas definitions they presently made would actually determine the on the perceptions, believes and undertandings of the future generations on the related issues.

Meanwhile, National Fatwa Committee (Islamic Affairs) Malaysia Chairman Professor Emeritus Tan Sri Dato' Dr Abdul Shukor Haji Husin inhis welcoming speech earlier thanked the Chief Minister and the Sarawak Government for supporting the seminar to be in this State.

"The objective National Fatwa Committee which are officially appointed Royal King's Committee is to anaylize and review on any certain issues before determining the official fatwa on the matter from the views of Malaysia," he added.

Disclosing that up to date, a total of 580 fatwas had been reviewed and defined by his committee, Shukor also said that the National Fatwa Committee had also "evolves accordingly with the technology" had established its own on-line portal; e-fatwa and remarkably, up to Ferbuary 29th the portal had a total numbers of 63,639 visitors.

"The reviewed and defined fatwas are available in three languanges; Bahasa Melayu, English and Arab and most astonishingly, a majority of the visitors are from United Kingdom, United States, Australia, Mesir and other Western countries."

Emphasizing that fatwas reflects the Islamic intergrity of this country, Shukor also said that his committee had also agreed to go in the same direction with the 1Malasyia concept introduced by Prime Minster Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak with their own motto "1Malaysia 1Fatwa".

Taib who arrived at the venue with his with his wife Puan Seri Ragad Kurdi-Taib was greeted by State Legislative Assembly Speaker Datuk Amar Mohamad Asfia Awang Nassar, Sarawak's Mufti Haji Kipli Haji Yassin with other distinguished invited guests.

This year's seminar with its theme "Fatwa Dijunjung Ummah Disanjung" was attended by more than 500 participants whom had came all around Sarawak and three separate papers touching on three issues are to presented and discuss during the seminar.

BN GOVERNMENT CONTINUES GIVING PEOPLE ASSISTANCE

-WE MALAYSIANS ARE FORTUNATE BECAUSE BN GOVERNMENT ALWAYS CONCERNS & UNDERSTANDS THE PEOPLE'S HARDSHIP THUS PROVIDING THEM WITH VARIOUS COMMUNITY-FRIENDLY-PROGRAMME IS ITS PRIORITY-

Junaidi (centre) looking through the PNK Satang Biru AGM 2012 report with its members yesterday
SANTUBONG will be the pioneer for the Fisheries Development Authority of Malaysia’s (LKIM) housing assistance scheme for the local fishermen folks in Sarawak with an allocation on RM1.46 million.

Deputy Speaker of Parliament Datuk Dr Haji Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar who is also Member of Parliament for Santubong said this adding that he felt proud that his constituency was chosen as the pioneer for this programme in Sarawak.

“This allocation (RM1.46 million)is a part from the RM100 million allocation announced by our Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak which is to uplift the living standard of the fishermen folks across Malaysia, particularly to provide them with houses  or repairing their houses.”

JunaidI said this to reporters during an interview after officiating the Persatuan Nelayan Kawasan (PNK) Satang Biru AGM 2012 at Kampung Telaga Air community Hall at Telaga Air near the city here yesterday morning.

He explained that from the allocation will be used either to build or repair about 140 houses listed in the programme located in the areas of PNK Satang Biru, PNK Sematan, PNK Buntal and PNK Tanjung Datu which were in the Santubong Parliamentary constituency and all the construction or repairs on these houses would be completed within this year.

Earlier in his speech, Junaidi reminded the people to appreciate all the various assistance provided to them as the government’s effort of enhancing the people’s living standard to a better level.

“We Malaysian are very fortunate that the present government are always concern on its people hence, had introduced so many community-friendly programmes as the government understands the hardship of its people.”

“There is no other government in the other countries in this world is capable to the Malaysian Government which had provided its people with these subsidies and assistance therefore, the people should not take for granted of what we had enjoyed but instead keep on supporting the government so that these subsidiaries could be continued.”

“As for myself, I can understand the hardship experienced by the fishermen folks as I came from a poor fisherman family and in addition, my father had passed away when I was only nine-year-old so I can imagine how the fishermen folks appreciate every single assistance from the government; from the living allowances, diesel subsidies and ohers,” expressed Junaidi.

On another matter, he advised all the PNKs in his parliamentary to propose to LKIM to scrap any policy which they find irrelevant to its members. He was referring to “situation’ where a PNK member who wanted to transfer his boat licence to a new boat had to “dispose” his old boat before the license transferring process.

“To tell you the truth, this policy is a bit irrelevant as the old boat is still usable and be given or sold to others who have no boats instead of wasting them by disposing the vessel and this is one of the policy that should be reviewed.

Also present at the PNK Satang Biru AGM were Rizal Sahari, who represents Sarawak LKIM director, PNK Satang Biru Chairman Bohari Ganti , Kampung Telaga Air Villagehead Morshidi Junaidi with more than 300 PNK Satang Biru members.

LIM GUAN ENG & HIS TALL TALE

-DESPITE THE CHEST THUMPING & ALL, GUAN ENG FAILED TO BUILD NOT EVEN A SINGLE LOW-COST HOUSE IN PENANG SINCE TAKING OVER THE STATE IN 2008-

One can accuse Lim Guan Eng, the Penang’s Chief Minster, of many things but surely a lack of self-promotion can’t be one of these complaints. Ever since taking over the state’s reins, Lim has ceaselessly and tireless hyped up his DAP-led administration as people-centric and super efficient.

As such the revelations by the Auditor General (AG) in his 2010 Report that Lim’s administration failed to build even a single low-cost house since taking over the state government came as a huge shock to many Penangites and Malaysians.

This revelation is highly unflattering and politically devastating when compared to the previous BN government’s record of building 9,600 low cost and 6,000 medium cost houses as well as 4,800 low cost flats between 2004 and 2008.

The CM has frequently stated his objectives of replicating the Singapore and Hong Kong models in providing affordable public housing to solve the acute shortage of such housing in the state. Lim had visited Singapore on numerous occasions and uppermost among his objectives were (supposedly) to study the Singapore’s Housing Development Board (HDB) system.

However, despite all the chest-thumping and posturing nothing ever materialised out of these countless visits and studies. Instead he kept blaming the lack of an organisation similar to HDB for his failures, while conveniently omitting to mention this did not stop his predecessors from building thousands of affordable houses.

However, after being publically humiliated and laid-bare by the AG’s findings and assailed by the state Opposition and NGOs, Lim quickly announced communist-sounding People’s Affordable Housing Scheme in Bandar Cassia, Batu Kawan, a location situated at the mainland and far removed from the commercial, industrial and administrative centers in the state.

He also announced, with much fanfare, an allocation of RM500 million to the “Affordable Housing Fund” and that Penang Development Corporation (PDC) will spearhead this project. Surbana, a subsidiary of Singapore’s HDB, was awarded the contract to design the township.
There is no doubt that the project itself has noble aims. However, on closer inspection the scheme reveals some disturbing facts that require urgent and full answers from the state government.

1 Lim allocated RM500 million for this project from the controversial “sale” of Bayan Mutiara. Can the CM explain how the money will be spent? Why there is even a need for this money when the land belongs to PDC and the construction cost will be borne by the development company that wins the tender? Does this mean the state will be financing the developer? Does this also mean that the tax payers will bear all the costs and assume all risks while the developer reaps outrageous profits at our expense?

2 For years Lim has been whining about the lack of a HDB-style body to manage the affordable housing scheme. So the question is why now the state is still using PDC as the implementing agency? Does this mean the CM mislead Penangites and wasted considerable time and resources in setting up Penang Housing Board (PHB) when the same role could be performed by an existing body, i.e., PDC or even MPPP/MPSP?

3 The “affordable houses” in Lim’s Bandar Cassia are priced between RM72,000 to RM220,000. How could this ridiculous price range be considered as “affordable”?  Worse still only around 20% of these houses will be priced at RM72K while the rest will carry a much higher price tag.

The previous government built affordable houses for only RM42 to RM80k. Not only the former BN govt built cheaper homes they also constructed them at the Penang Island too. In fact for RM220k, one could even buy a condo in other states. Given that land is given free and financing is also provided by the state government, these prices look astronomical.

4 The selection of Surbana is another point which Lim has misled the public.  Singapore’s HDB was never an agency for developing affordable public housing but public housing in general.
While it is true that HDB managed to solve the public housing in Singapore, it came with a huge social-economic cost. In fact the lack of affordability and availability of the HDB flats was one of the key factors behind PAP’s poor showing in the last Singapore’s General Elections.

5 It also appears that Lim did not follow his own much-hyped “open tender” policy in awarding the contract. Malaysian firms have won numerous awards for housing developments at regional and global levels and as such this selection is an affront to the Malaysian construction industry.
The RM6.75million paid to Surbana for the first phase of the project is also excessive and several times more than the fees usually charged by local firms. Can Lim explain the rationale behind this stratospheric fees and who has approved it?

6 The township reportedly planned to be developed over 10 to 15 years. Many industry players find it laughable that Lim’s “super efficient” government is taking 15 years to build 11,800 houses when even a medium-sized developer could build the same number of houses within a few years.

7 Viewing this issue from a macro perspective, a more disturbing picture emerges and the real intentions of the state government are unveiled. It certainly looks as though the state is creating a humongous ghetto for poor people in the state by removing them from the island and other more prosperous parts of the mainland and sending them to Penang’s very own Soweto.

An even more serious accusation is that the state undertaking ethic cleansing and practicing apartheid policy on poor Malays and Indians by sending them to the mainland for political purposes. There are grounds to believe the state government might want to evict the poor minorities from the island and taking over their ancestral lands to build even more super luxury homes for rich locals and foreigners. Given state government’s track records, certainly accusation of such hidden ugly racial agenda is plausible.

8 The decision of the state government to site Robert Bosch’s highly toxic Solar Panel manufacturing plant at Batu Kawan instead of Bayan Lepas (at the Island) also becomes clearer too. It appears that the state considers the health and lives of poor people of Penang much less important than super rich Penangites and foreigners who reside at the Island.

Lim had promised Penangites a dream, best quality affordable housing but the facts show that this project will turn out to be a nightmare and a scam to enrich the private sector at the expense of public just like case of the RM10 billion Bayan Mutiara Scandal.
