BR1M FORMS SUBMISSION DATELINE EXTENDED TIL FEBRUARY 10

THOSE APPLICATIONS WHICH WERE NOT APPROVED IN THE FIRST SCREENING CAN APPEAL BY FILLING AN APPEAL FORM TO BE SEND BEFORE THE NEW DATELINE EXPIRES 

THE government has extended the deadline for sending in the Bantuan Rakyat 1Malaysia (BR1M) or 1Malaysia People’ Aid application forms which initially fixed on last January 10 by another month to February 10.

This was according to Second Finance Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Husni Hanadzlah in a press release earlier today adding that the period extension would enabled any of the late applicants to submit their application forms.

As at the first dateline, 4,123,713 BR1M application forms have been submitted from all over Malaysia and out of that figure, 3,850,668 of the applications have been keyed into the data system for verification with  a total of 3,102,054 of applications have been approved, disclosed Husni.

The rest of the applications are undergoing verification and this is expected to be completed by January 13, said Husni adding that those whose applications were rejected in their fisrt application can also appeal by filling a special BR1M appeal forms available at all Inland Revenue Board (IRB) branch offices and related government agencies. PAYMENT WILL BE MADE IN PHASES STARTING THIS JANUARY 15 UNTIL MARCH 15

Meanwhile, the payment of the Bantuan Rakyat 1Malaysia (BR1M) or 1Malaysia People’ Aid to successful applicants will be held in several phases nationwide starting this January 15 in form of cash vouchers within the period of two months until March 15, he added.

He explained that, this is to ensure that payments are made in an orderly and smoothly so that no one who is eligible of the assistance will be left out and within the two months, the eligible applicants be acknowledge in stages with a letter on the date and venue for the collection of their vouchers.

The applicants can also check of the status of their application by calling the hotline: 1-800-222-500/1-300-88-3010 from January 16 onward from 9am to 5pm on working days.

The Ministry also said that in order to make it easy for the people to cash their BR1M vouchers, the government will mobilized Bank Simpanan Nasional, CIMB and Maybank counters for the vouchers’ distribution.
