GOVERNMENT WILL CONTINUE TO HELP THE PEOPLE

GOVERNMENT SUBSIDIES & AIDS, CLOSING THE GAP BETWEEN THE LOW-MID & HIGH INCOME EARNERS

BN'S PRIORITY IS THE PEOPLE
THE people should understand the main objective of why the Barisan Nasional (BN) government had introduced and implemented so many assistance through its variety of program and schemes on an on-going basis which reason is only one, to help the people to improve themselves for a better life.

“The subsidies and assistance given to the people from the BN government is actually an effort to close the gap of living standard, stabilising the differences between the mid and high income earners.

Pantai Damai Assemblymen Dr Haji Abdul Rahman Junaidi said this adding that the government under the leadership of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Haji Najib Tun Razak is very concern on the people's welfare thus, had continued giving out subsidies.

“Compare to our neighbouring countries in this region, most of them had stopped giving out subsidies and assistance to their people due to the present world slow economic and financial situation.”

THE LATEST ASSISTANCE PROGRAM BY THE GOVERNMENT IS THE 1MALAYSIA RM500 ASSISTANCE
“But for us, not only that we continued on handing out the subsidies, Malaysia even introduced much more aids programme to the people with the latest, the 1Malaysia RM500 assistance..now, where else can you find a better government than that-taking concern on the people as their priority?”

Rahman said this in his speech in during the Presentation Ceremony of the Fishermen’s Living-Allowance before handing over RM63,500 to 319 fishermen (RM200 each) from Persatuan Nelayan Kawasan (PNK) Buntal held at the Dewan Sri Buntal in Kampung Buntal near Kuching here earlier this morning.

Since the Fishermen’s Living-Allowance Program was introduced in 2008, the government through LKIM had allocated RM51.9 million to Sarawak with PNK Buntal alone getting RM2.5 million in the same period.

As for the 10 sen per a kilogramme of fish incentive, LKIM had paid RM20.69 million to the fishermen in Sarawak since the programme was introduced in 2008.
