-DAP'S ANNOUNCEMENT EARLIER FIELDING THEIR CANDIDATE IN MIRI IS NOT FINAL AS PKR ALSO WOULD BE FIELDING OUR CANDIDATE IN MIRI, SAYS BARU BIAN-
Sarawak Pakatan Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) Chief Baru Bian yesterday stressed that PKR would be also fielding their own Miri Member of Parliament candidate despite Sarawak Democratic Action Party's (DAP) announcement of their own candidate a day earlier.
"Well, that (DAP's announcement) is still not final as we (PKR) would be also fielding our own candidate," said Baru (PKR-Ba'Kalalan) adding that the final say will up to the PR de facto leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim who is also PKR advisor.
Rebutting on Sarawak DAP Chairman Wong Ho Leng's announcement made earlier on Thursday implying that PKR would give way for them in Miri, Baru stressed that as far as they are concern, the matter is yet still "under negotiation" and too pre-matured to comfirm.
When asked when is PKR going to name their candidate in Sarawak, Baru said that they would have to wait for PKR President (Datin Wan Azizah Wan Ismail) to make that announcement.
Asked again on whether both DAP and PKR will overlap among themselves naming their respective candidiates in the same parliamentary constituency, he stressed again that is for the PR leader (Anwar) to decide later.
On Ho Leng's arguement that DAP candidate are much "suitable" to be the the Miri MP candidate rather than PKR as their candidate really knew the Miri's people problem, Baru said it is for them (DAP) to make their claims as for him, the issue is considered as a "secondary matter".
Baru was met by New Sarawak Tribune at the DUN's lobby on the fifth day of the First Meeting of the Second Term of the 17th State Assembly Hall Sitting on the morning session yesterday morning.
On last Thursday, DAP litterally showed their "superiority" in the Pakatan Rakyat (PR) fold by announcing their Miri MP candidate Lim Su Kien in the forthcoming 13th General Election without the consent of the other PR members (PKR and PAS).
Ho Leng, making that announcement admitted that the decision was without the consent from their "so-called partners" and it was the totally DAP's decison made by DAP candidate selection communitee in Sibu last May 6th.
He said DAP believed that we have no problems (from PKR and PAS) in naming our candidate because we felt that our candidate knows more about the people of Miri and their problem," said Ho Leng.
Ho Leng, who is also Bukit Assek State Assemblyman pointed out that DAP did not need to seek PKR's consensus when asked by reporters whether PKR had given their consent on DAP fielding their candidate in Miri in the GE.
Meanwhile, Kota Sentosa Chong Chieng Jen who was also at the press conference admitted that although there is a "little bit disagreement" among the PR members, DAP will syick firm on their decision.
