MORE NAYS FOR SARAWAK UMNO?

-PROPOSING UMNO TO BE ACCEPTED IN SARAWAK IS DS AZMAN UJANG'S PERSONAL OPINION HOWEVER, IT SHOULD HAD NOT BE RAISED UP AT THIS MOMENT DUE TO SOME "CIRCUMSTANCES"-

Assistant Minister of Housing and Youth Development Haji Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah described Datuk Seri Azman Ujang's recent proposal for UMNO to spread its wings into Sarawak is his own personal opinion.

"I believe that the proposal is his (Azman's) personal opinion however, it should had not be raised up at this moment due to some circumstances," said Karim, who is also the Asajaya State Assemblyman.

"UMNO in West Malaysia is currently having its "indentity crisis" and acceptance by the people and UMNO is presently the "recovery" process to its true strength therefore, for me, it is advisable for UMNO to focus in West malaysia fisrt rather than to spread its wings here."

Karim was interviewed by UnReportedNews™® after attending the official opening ceremony of the First Meeting of the Second Term of the 17th State Assembly Hall Sitting at the State DUN at Petra jaya near the city here yesterday morning.

Asked whether the proposal would give any impacts on the forthcoming election, Karim said that it would not affect anything but still, the proposal was made a "wrongly timing".

He was asked to comment on Sarawakian's Datuk Seri Azman Ujang remark for Sarawakians to accept UMNO to come into this State during a live-talk show session at TV3 last week where Azman, admitted that his remarks that UMNO is a one party for all and could be accepted by all races in Sarawak would trigger a controversy.

Meanwhile, when asked on the same matter, Sarawak State Legislative Assembly Speaker Datuk Amar Mohamad Asfia Awang Nassar said that he leaves the matter to Prime Minister Dato' Seri Najib Tun Razak and Chief Minister Pehin Seri Haji Abdul Taib Mahmud to decide.

"It is wise just to let them both to discuss on the matter on the state and at the national level," said Asfia to UnReportedNews™® adding that it is relevant for them to discuss on their own discretion and make a decission on the matter.

Last week Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) vice president Datuk Amar Abang Haji Johari Tun Abang Haji Openg when asked on the matter brushes aside the idea of UMNO to spread its wings to Sarawak. (Click here)

"Why rush..(UMNO) getting in here (Sarawak), now the best thing is just let it be status quo (the way it is now)," he said adding that as PBB and UMNO are sister-BN parties, its  Presidents; Chief Minister Pehin Seri Haji Abdul Taib Mahmud and Prime Minister Dato' Seri Najib Tun Razak are working together and there are no question of UMNO getting into Sarawak.

Johari also pointed out in addition, the last State election saw PBB winning 100 percent of our seats therefore, the question of UMNO coming here is not relevant, you can ask the otrher politicians in Sarawak.
