RM100 MILLION FOR BUMIPUTERA ENTREPRENEURS' DEVELOPMENT INCENTIVES IN SARAWAK

"WEAK" BUMIPUTERA ENTREPRENEURS MUST STRIDE EVEN HARDER TO BECOME A MORE SUCCESSFUL GROUP OF ENTREPRENEURS
THE Bumiputera entrepreneurs community in Sarawak should fully take the advantage of the RM100 milion allocation provided from the Federal Government  to fund all the developement incentives in this State.

Chief Minister Pehin Sri Haji Abdul Taib Mahmud said this adding that those (Bumiputera entrepreneurs) who are still considered "weak" in the business in Sarawak must stride even harder to become a more successful group of entrepreneurs as a benchmark and competitive challenges.

"In the world of entrepreneurship and business, Bumiputeras should not limit themselves in the their own group but  instead they should try to reach out to the other group of people or other races who are successful entrepreneurs in the field of its kind."

He said it was a significant weakness which could be obviously seen in Bumiputera entrepreneurs is that without making a more successful entrepreneur as a benchmark and a healthy competition to survive.

"Successful entrepreneurs should be enviable in a positive way and those who succeed should be set as a benchmark and challenge as a stimulus for self-development."

"This is because in business networking is crucial to achieve any success therefore we should work together to help one another in a network of entrepreneurs who create synergies viable, resilient and competitive," he said.

Taib said this during his keynote address at the official opening and launching ceremony of JEJAK 2012 (an initiative taken by Unit Peneraju Adenda Bumiputera-TERAJU) and the Sixth Sarawak Bumiputera Economic Congress at one of the leading hotel near the city here yesterday.

Elaborating on the matter, Taib pointed out that in order to succeed, there are much work to be done by community entrepreneurs but most important, the Bumiputera entrepreneurs must prepare themselves with knowledge and specific knowledge of the business undertaken and skills in aspects of management.

"At the same time, entrepreneurs not only need to do certain things to be successful but they must also refrain from doing certain things to push to failure and in reality, in an increasingly competitive world, only the best and are able to succeed.

To increase Bumiputera ownership and control of the national economy, we need a lot of entrepreneurs who really want to be the best," he said adding that in the meantime, he stressed the fact the government does not give special treatment or neglect its responsibility to Bumiputera entrepreneurs.

"On the other hand the same opportunities to non-Bumiputera to dominate economic and business opportunities therefore just do not give preferential treatment to indigenous non-Bumiputera it will lead to completely dominate the economy."

"With all sorts of help and encouragement given, especially the young entrepreneurs should dare to come forward to prove that the Bumiputera community can become successful businessmen and entrepreneurs," he said.

On the tourism business sector, Taib urged those related in the tourism-related business entreprenuers in Sarawak to form a "Wholesale Tourist Organisation" to serve as a body, uniforming and standardizing tourist packages systematically and profesionally that can promote their tourist product at a wider scale.

"The (Wholesale Tourist) Organisition can also offer either advices, service or even financial assistances to them," added Taib to the audience of more than 1,500 participants taking part in the two day JEJAK 2012 and Sixth Sarawak Bumiputera Economic Congress.

Earlier in the same event, Minister in the Prime Minister Office Tan Sri Nor Mohammed Yackop had announce the RM100 million allocation from the Federal Government to fund developement initiative in Sarawak.
